Terms of Service

Effective date: 7 September 2026

These terms govern use of WeChat Backup, a private desktop backup utility operated by QD Advisory.

Permitted use

The application may be used only by an authorised user to create, verify, restore, and maintain encrypted backup repository objects in a Google Drive account controlled by that user.

User responsibility

The user is responsible for maintaining access to the Google account, protecting repository credentials, keeping an independent recovery copy of the repository password, and verifying restored data before relying on it.

Google Drive access

The application requests the drive.file scope and uses it only for application-created or explicitly opened files. The user may revoke access through Google Account security settings.

No warranty

The application is provided as-is during development and validation. Backups must be tested and reconciled. No guarantee is made that every data source, file type, or third-party service will remain compatible indefinitely.

Prohibited use

The application must not be used to access another person's account or data without authorisation, evade security controls, or violate applicable law or third-party terms.

Changes and termination

These terms may be updated as the application changes. The user may stop using the application, revoke Google access, and delete application-created files at any time.
