Privacy Policy

WeChat Backup is a private desktop backup utility operated by QD Advisory. This policy explains how the application accesses and uses Google user data.

Google data accessed

The application requests the Google Drive drive.file scope. This permits it to create and manage Google Drive files created by the application or explicitly opened with it. The application does not request permission to browse all pre-existing files in the user's Google Drive.

How data is used

Google Drive access is used only to upload, list, verify, restore, and maintain encrypted backup repository objects selected by the user. Google user data is not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.

Storage and security

Backup contents are encrypted locally before upload. OAuth credentials are stored in a protected local configuration and are not placed inside the backup repository. Repository encryption passwords are stored separately.

Sharing and disclosure

Google user data is not sold or shared with third parties except as required to operate Google Drive and the backup tools selected by the user, or when required by law.

Retention and deletion

Backup objects remain in the user's Google Drive until the user deletes them or directs the application to remove them. The user may revoke the application's Google access at any time and may delete application-created Drive files.

Limited Use

Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
